You can't miss Christ the Redeemer statue. It is located at the peak of the 700-metre (2,300 ft)  Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city. The view is breathtaking.

Rodrigo de Freitas Lagoon is a charming neighborhood surrounded by trendy boutiques, affordable  cafés and restaurants. You should take a walk around the Lagoon.

Maracanã Stadium is located in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. If you are a soccer (or football) fan,  you should try to watch a classic Flamengo x Fluminense, mostly known as Fla x Flu.

Ipanema Beach became widely known by the song  "The girl from Ipanema" ("Garota de Ipanema"), written by Tom Jobim and Vinicius de Moraes.

Rio de Janeiro is a great place to buy clothes, especially beachwear, because they are cheap.

The Hippie Market of Ipanema is also an interesting place to shop. It's quite a good place to find Soccer Jerseys, T-shirts, paintings, carvings, jewellery, hats , postcards etc.

What else should I do there?
